FPL Team of the Season so far

The Scout is highlighting the top-performing players over the first 12 Gameweeks of 2023/24 Fantasy Premier League, showing the best XI, lining up in a 3-5-2 formation.

Nine different clubs are represented, with Arsenal and Liverpool each supplying two players.

Alisson Becker (Liverpool) £5.6m, 56pts

Liverpool’s Brazilian has climbed to the top of the goalkeeper standings thanks to an improved run of form, keeping three of his four clean sheets this season in the last four Gameweeks. Alisson has also collected 10 save points and a further nine bonus points.

Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) £7.0m, 69pts

The Newcastle United right-back’s average of 5.8 points per match (ppm) is currently eclipsing his 5.2ppm from last season, when he was the top-scoring defender in Fantasy. Trippier’s total of 33 key passes is more than any other player in 2023/24.

Joachim Andersen (Crystal Palace) £5.1m, 60pts

Crystal Palace’s centre-back is the No 1 player for value this season, returning 11.8 points per million spent. Andersen has combined two goals and an assist with five clean sheets and nine bonus points.

William Saliba (Arsenal) £5.4m, 55pts

The Frenchman is the third most-owned defender in Fantasy, found in over 30 per cent of squads. Saliba has rewarded their faith with a goal, an assist, five clean sheets and five bonus points.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) £13.0m, 101pts

His 10 goals and four assists have helped Liverpool’s Egyptian become the first player in 2023/24 to reach the 100-point mark. Salah has blanked just twice in 12 appearances and has recorded five double-figure hauls, more than any other player.

Son Heung-min (Spurs) £9.7m, 82pts

Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean has returned to top form thanks to a new role as a centre-forward under Ange Postecoglou. Son has averaged 8.2ppm from Gameweek 4 onwards, scoring eight goals and supplying an assist.

Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) £7.7m, 75pts

The West Ham United star has been one of the most consistent picks in Fantasy and has yet to blank in back-to-back Gameweeks. Four of the Hammers’ next five matches score just two in the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), giving Bowen the chance to maintain his excellent form.

Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) £6.8m, 74pts

Six goals and three assists have helped the Brentford star to fourth place in the midfield standings. Mbeumo’s 34 shots, 25 shots in the box, 11 big chances and 15 shots on target all rank among the top four players in his position in Fantasy.

Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) £8.6m, 71pts

The Arsenal winger is the most-owned midfielder in Fantasy, found in just over 50 per cent of squads. Four goals and six assists underline the all-round influence of Saka, who has blanked just twice in 11 appearances.

Erling Haaland (Man City) £14.0m, 96pts

Manchester City’s Norwegian leads the race for the Golden Boot, scoring 13 goals and supplying three assists. Haaland’s 46 shots, 44 shots in the box, 23 big chances and 25 shots on target are all league-leading totals, showing why he is owned by a huge 83 per cent of managers.

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) £8.4m, 80pts

The Aston Villa forward has been involved in 14 goals this season, second only to the 16 of Haaland among all players. Watkins has already matched his tally of eight assists from 2022/23 Fantasy, while also scoring six goals.
