The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts share their thoughts on who is the best second forward to own alongside Erling Haaland (£14.0m), in light of the indifferent form of Ollie Watkins (£8.4m) and Julian Alvarez (£7.1m).

What the experts say
Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

After facing Manchester City in Gameweek 13, Darwin Nunez (£7.5m) has fixtures against Fulham, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace in the following three matches. There should be goals for the Liverpool star against those sides, particularly given his underlying data has been strong all season - as has his link-up play with Mohamed Salah (£13.0m).

Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick)

I have been eyeing up Dominic Solanke (£6.4m) as a potential replacement for Alvarez. Most of the popular FPL forwards have tough fixtures in Gameweek 13, but Solanke is one who could haul again with an easier fixture against Sheff Utd.

Watkins and Alvarez are still the two best forwards to pair with Haaland. That being said, Nunez is coming into my thoughts after getting more starts for Liverpool. Meanwhile, Solanke has a great run of fixtures and is worth considering as a third forward.

Utkarsh Dalmia (@ZopharFPL)

Watkins and Alvarez are still the best second forwards, but Solanke is worth keeping an eye on. AFC Bournemouth take on Sheff Utd, Luton and Nott'm Forest over the next six matches, and he is the Cherries' talisman.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

I have Watkins as my second forward and I am holding him for Gameweek 13, given Spurs have defensive weaknesses that both he and Moussa Diaby (£6.8m) can exploit. However, I will be moving him on to Nunez after that. For managers who have Alvarez alongside Haaland, start formulating a plan for Blank Gameweek 18 now. Moving Alvarez on to Nunez or Solanke makes sense.

Five in midfield still looks the best way to go, but I'm not rushing to sell Watkins or Alvarez. It is worth monitoring Callum Wilson (£7.9m) for a short-term run from Gameweek 17, providing he's back to full fitness.

Harry Daniels (@FPL_Harry)

Watkins remains the best second forward. Aston Villa continue to score plenty of goals and he will always be involved.
