Liz Kendall MP, Shadow Minister for Social Care, was full of praise for Premier League Primary Stars following a showcase at Stokes Wood Primary School in her constituency, delivered by Leicester City in the Community.

“The sheer reach that you’ve got here at Leicester in the Community with the Premier League Primary Stars programme is astonishing – just how much you are doing for so many children and young people," she said.

“It is a great passion of mine in life that children are able to fulfil their potential, no matter where they’re born, what their parents did or their gender or ethnicity.”

Premier League Primary Stars uses the appeal of professional football to support children to be active and develop essential life skills. It is available to every primary school in England and Wales, with over 18,700 schools engaged with the programme, including 95 across Leicester.

The programme enables teachers to use resources for English, PSHE, PE and Maths, to support children to develop skills and values that are crucial to success in later life. Currently 103 professional football clubs from the National League to the Premier League run in-classroom Premier League Primary Stars sessions in local partner schools.
